How can you write your wedding vows? CAN you write your wedding vows? Of course! Don't be scared! They can be as personalized as you are! So here is a little help as you set out on on the journey. Enjoy!   You're probably knee-deep (or deeper!) in planning; maybe you're at the point where you're writing your vows. (Or at least thinking about it!) And every time you sit down to write them you think, "How do I write these wedding vows?" The mere thought of it makes you nervous. Here are a few ideas to get you started; (nothing is as scary as a blank page!) -They should be between 200-250 words or less. -Start by calling each other by name. End with, "I love you." -Include promises to each other. -Don't be afraid to make them funny! -Don’t be afraid to make them specific to you! -Write them down. Do NOT attempt to memorize them. -Put them on something nice; a vow book, a pretty greeting card, even a postcard if you’re at a destination location (if you are having a New Jersey shore wedding! And remember; if you later decide that you don’t want to say them at your ceremony, in front of all those people? You don’t have to! You can say them to each other at your first look. Just ask your officiant to add “repeat after me’s” or “I do’s” to the ceremony. You’ll be just as married and (for some couples) a whole lot calmer! Now, we have a "Mad Lib” vow generator so you can literally fill in nine words and it will sound like you’ve been writing for weeks! We'll post that soon! Yes!!! Because they just eloped, with a few of their besties there to celebrate! It's so easy to elope in NJ! First, you find your perfect match! Then one of you proposes! (Hint; it can be either of you!!) Then you get your New Jersey Marriage License from your home town (it's easy to get a marriage license, we can help you!) You book us! We all meet up with two witnesses. And we get you married! We have beautiful parks, and of course there is always the gorgeous New Jersey shore (and in autumn? It's even more beautiful and more private) So call us already! We have fabulous officiants from the edge of New York State to Cape May NJ, and we're ready to marry you! Yes, we love both children in weddings and your dogs in your weddings, (and many of our NJ wedding venues are dog friendly!) But oddly enough the same great wedding advice applies to both of them!
Know your puppy or child! Are they outgoing or are they shy? Do they like being in front of people or do people scare them? Do you have a dedicated caretaker who can attend to their needs during the pre-ceremony, the actual wedding ceremony and the reception? (We can refer you to many dogsitters!) Have toys and treats for them! And have a quiet place for them when they max out on your wedding guests! We have a "love/hate" relationship with Lisa Porada, the dessert architect behind Chocolate Carousel, the gourmet dessert shop she runs with her husband John. Located in Wall NJ. You see, we love her because her cakes and desserts are absolutely fantastic, but about three minutes into our recent podcast we were both starving!! They are located in Wall NJ, but their gorgeous wedding cakes and desserts are found at weddings all over the New Jersey, much to the delight of the wedding guests!
