It's easy to get your marriage license in NJ! But it's almost never too early to figure out how to do that!
If you live in New Jersey, you'll apply for your wedding license in your home town, and you'll bring your drivers' licenses as ID. (Only one of you has to live there and if you live in different towns, you can apply for your license in either.) You'll bring one witness over the age of 18, your fee for the wedding license, (which will be 28.00), and all the information about your NJ wedding venue and your NJ wedding officiant. (If you're from out of state, you can still get married in NJ; you just need to go to the town where your wedding ceremony is taking place.) And that's it! Three days later, your license will be ready to use. You'll bring it to your wedding, your professional officiant will fill it out, get your two witnesses to sign it and return it to the clerk where your wedding ceremony took place. Then you'll request your certified wedding license copies from that clerk. After that, you can do all the fun stuff like changing your name, your driver's license, passports and the other things you need to update. There is no time limit on when you need to do this. I usually tell my couples to call their local clerk as soon as they set their wedding date and find out when that clerk would like you to come in and apply. It's all easy! But remember, gettting married IN New Jersey means you need a license FROM New Jersey! You know you always wanted to talk to Ben Lau! Well you're in luck because he is on our latest podcast at New Jersey Wedding Podcast!
Ben is known for his fun, playful, wedding photography for the dreamer & adventurer in all of us. Ben loves the work that he get to create, and the amazing couples he gets to do it with. After all these years of photographing weddings, he still think that’s pretty cool, and he hopes you’ll think so too. An added bonus to having Ben Lau as your photographer is that all your other vendors love working with him too! When you have a fabulous team, you'll be able to really enjoy your day! (And of course, your photos are going to be beautiful heirlooms as well!) @benlauphotography @newjerseyweddingpodcast @njvowsnow @Forthisjoyousoccasion |
